World of Warcraft

 Wolrd of Warcraft.{WoW}
It's the first MMORPG game that caught my attention for many years.
I have been playing Wolrd of Warcraft since the very start.
About 5 years actually.

                                                           Let's watch the cinematic :)

World of Warcraft is a mmorpg game created for people who don't really have anything better to do with their free time (like myself for example :) ) various of dungeons, gears, professions and spells are inside the game ready to be found through the world. The most exciting part for me is the pvp (player vs player) with some great bgs(battlegrounds).Blizzard entertainment tried to make the game better by making expansions (The Burning Crusade, Wrath Of The Lich King,Cataclysm) but I'm not sure if that worked out especially for cataclysm.World of Warcraft has 2 factions. The Alliance and the Horde.Alliance races are human, dwarf, gnome, night elf, draenei and worgen. As for The Horde there are the orc, troll, tauren, undead, blood elf and the goblin (NOTE classes are from all the expansions.).The classes of the game are the same for both horde and alliance(NOTE on the first WOW Horde had the shaman and the Alliance had the paladin that changed with burning crusade.). Mage, Priest and Warlock are the main casters of the game there is a hunter, a warrior and a rogue who are the melee and ranged dps (Damage Per Second) also note that warrior can also be a tank by using the talents of protection. Paladin, priest, druid and shaman are the healers of the game(NOTE Paladin can either tank dps or heal. Druid can tank dps and heal aswell.shaman can heal and dps with two methods ranged as elemental and melee as enchan,Priest can heal and dps NOTE priest can heal as holy and as discpline).Lastly death knight, druid, paladin and warrior are the tanks as mentioned.Enough with the characters! Lets talk about the pve (player vs environment) with many dungeons and raids waiting for players to be conquered or either be consumed.World of Warcraft(the first game without expansions) had a level cap 60 and it was really difficult to earn experience and get some gear which would allow players to raid. There were also some raids with 40 players(!) inside and it was really tough! but when the first expansion was announced everyone waited so patiently to see another difficult epic game style in wow.

This is the announcing video that blizzard made for The Burning Crusade.announced on October 28th, 2005 and released on January 16th, 2007.

The burning crusade was better than everybody expected with the announcing of the arena for the pvp and many new raids throughout the world.we will make a pause here to discuss about the arena.PvP was really good but with the arena the game went to a completely different level.World of Warcraft was the first game to try such a thing and it had a HUGE success! players Had to try their skills not only by playing their chars but also in teamwork in order to get some improved gears for pvp.Arena had 3 options to make.Arena 2v2,3v3 and 5v5.Arena was not the only thing that was added and changed in the World of Warcraft. level cap was raised to 70 and 2 new races were added as well. For the Alliance were the draenei and for the Horde were the Blood Elves.before the Burning crusade there was a big difference between the two factions.Alliance had the paladins and Horde had the shamans but with the new expansion draenei could be a shaman and blood elf could be a paladin and that was huge for the players that did not want to change server or faction. Also a New land was created for players.None other than outland the home of draeneis and fel creatures.the cinematic were great the game itself had become like no other.I did not mention before the mounts.on World of Warcraft both factions have their unique (depends on race) mounts.humans have horses dwarfs have rams gnomes have the mechanostrider night elves have sabers and the draeneis have elekks.Orcs have wolves trolls have raptors taurens have kodos undead have skeletal horses and blood elves have the hawkstriders.mounts were purchasable at level 40 and the epic mount at level 60. With the Burning crusade another new feature were the Flying mounts. Yeah you can actually fly.But only in Outland. Many new quests were created in order for the story to continue. The main object of this expansion was to kill illidan.a New stat to increase the difficulty of the pvp gaming was added as well the resilience which reduces the damage taken by players (and only!) Patch 2.1 introduced daily quest (and the relevant Netherwing/Ogri'la /Skyguard zones such as Skettis) and the black temple 25-man raid content. It can also be argued that this patch unlocked the Hyjal wing of the Caverns of Time, since prior to 2.1, Kael'Thas and Lady Vashj would only drop a limited number of attunement vials to Hyjal per kill, requiring several months of farming prior to fielding a 25-man raid into Hyjal.
Patch 2.2 introduces voice communications software built into the game client (as well as video recording for Mac clients).Patch 2.3 introduces the Zul'Aman 10-man raid instance and leveling improvements for levels 20-60.Patch 2.4introduces the Isle of quel danas, a new outdoor zone which includes the Magisters terrace, a 5-man instance, and the Sunwell plateau , a 25-man raid. Also included are Combat log improvements and the introduction of a global Arena tournament realm.

The next chapter of this epic game was the Wrath of the Lich king.
So many previews.so many videos about it.and then the trailer.
with this epic cinematic Blizzard entertainment announced the second expansion(August 3,2007) and released on November 13 2008.

So lets start with the changes that occurred in the map :)
Wrath of the lich king expansion took place in the icy Continent of Northrend home of the undeads and Arthas kingdom.Although Northrend is known for its snow and ice, parts of the continent are not frozen over, such as the springtime Howling fjord and the jungle-like sholazar basin.Flying mounts are also available in Northrend as it was in outland.in order to fly in the new region players must purchase the cold weather flying in the cost of some golds.New quests also made their appearance as it was expected.players can choose were to start their questline between howling fjord and borean tundra. In order to travel to Northrend players of the alliance must take the ship from the brand new port in Stormwind and the horde players must take the new zeppelin zone just outside Orgrimmar.new reputation system was also made to make this expansion even more better.Players can choose different tabards that will grant reputation when doing Heroic Dungeons. The expansion added group content in a similar fashion to The Burning Crusade, and the "heroic dungeon" format was preserved. Many new 5-man, 10-man, and 25-man dungeons are located in Northrend. The expansion has as many 5-man instances as the previous expansion and all 25-man raids can also be completed as a 10-man group due to the popularity of Kharazan. There were three raid dungeons and twelve 5-man dungeons (eight for leveling up and four max-level, each with heroic versions) at release. Heroic access also no longer requires any faction reputation and are available simply by reaching level 80.(in the Burning crusade in order to do heroic dungeons you needed to have a key by the vendors.in order to buy that key you needed to be exalted with the respective owner).New bgs were also announced in this expansion of Worlds of Warcraft such as Strand of the ancients and Isle of conquest.Wrath of the lick king also had some siege vehicles made in order to make the game even more epic. The world pvp is back. Wintergrasp is here.A keep which can be controlled by alliance and horde.the strongest will maintain wintergrasp and be awarded.a fight begins every 2 hours and 30 minutes.siege weapon and defending type of weapon are all over Wintergrasp.when a team captures WG a raid unlocks called Vault of Archavon with 4 boss in total and great pve and pvp loots.
And now.On to the main Article.
............................................................Death Knight..................................................................

Death knight is the new class of World of Warcraft and is available for every race both alliance and horde.World of Warcrafts first hero class, the death knight is accessible to players after having a character reach level 55. Once unlocked, the death knight, starting at level 55, will then complete a series of quests in Acherus which is a storyline available only for Death knights.Originally, death knights were only allowed to be created on a realm with a pre existing level 55 character for that account, but now, as long as there is a level 55 present on the account, a death knight can be constructed on any realm. A single death knight is allowed per realm.
The death knight is a plate-wearing DPS/tank class (shields can not be used) that uses a brand new resource system based primarily on cooldowns.Rather than the existing Mana(paladin mage warlock hunter<main game, the Burning crusade, Wrath of the lick king>priest druid and shaman).Energy(rogue and feral cat form druid) and Rage(warrior and feral bear form druid) mechanics, the death knight uses six runes, two runes each of three types, frost, blood, and unholy, which are refreshed on a ten second timer.. Death knights also have access to runic power, which is generated much in the same way as rage by casting spells.

(professions and talents will be analyzed in the end of all expansions just to make sure that i wont miss anything)
Achievement points in another thing that blizzard came up to improve their new expansion. These self-contained goals offer new challenges, satisfy goal-oriented players, and allow others to see your accomplishments in World of Warcraft — plus, they are just plain fun.Thats right. Most of the achievements WILL not grant you anything at all. of course there are exceptions.
On to the patches now! :)
Patch 3.0:Echoes of doom/Wrath of the lick king (introduction of the new futures of Wrath of the lich king such as new talents new spells sw harbor etc).
lets take a look.
  • All players will have their talent points reimbursed and will have access to new talents throughout their trees; this includes the 51-point talents. Several new spells and abilities have been added for all classes. Players will need to visit their class trainer to learn new spells.
  • The Kirin Tor have made their move and so has Dalaran. Please watch your step around the crater that has been left behind!
  • The Barber Shop has been implemented and you can now visit one of the Barber Shops in the major cities to change your appearance. Be sure to get your Shave and a Haircut!
  • The all new Achievement System has been implemented and the Achievement panel can be accessed via the interface. While many achievements are not retroactive, we have done our best to credit as many as possible. Gamemasters will not be able to grant achievements for past accomplishements.
  • Stormwind Harbor is now open for business.
  • New towers have been added outside of Orgrimmar and in Tirisfal Glades. Crews are currently at work to establish a new Zeppelin route to Northrend for your travel pleasure. Please no /spitting off of the towers.
  • A new entrance is now viewable in the Caverns of Time.
  • Hit Rating, Critical Strike Rating, and Haste Rating now modify both melee attacks and spells.
  • Spell casting and spell channeling pushback has been changed to the following:
    • When casting a spell:
      • The first and second hit will add .5 secs each to the cast time.
      • All hits after the second will have no effect.
    • When channeling a spell:
      • The first and second hit reduces current duration by 25% of total duration each.
      • All hits after the second will have no effect.

  • Spell Power:
    • All items and effects which grant bonuses to spell damage and spell healing are being consolidated into a single stat, Spell Power. This stat will appear with the same values found on items which grant "increased spell damage and healing" such as on typical Mage and Warlock itemization.
      • For classes which do not heal, they should see no change in the character sheet other than new tooltip wording.
    • Healing characters will see their bonus healing numbers on the character sheet decrease, however, all healing spells have been modified to receive more benefit from Spell Power than they received from bonus healing, with a net effect of no change to the amount healed by their spells. Some talents have had to be rebalanced to accommodate this change, but the amount healed will remain roughly the same. In addition, some talents will provide only healing spell power
    •
I am not going to give the details for every patch since I find it pointless. On to the raids then.
The nexus:10/25 raid wing. Eye of eternity.its a single 10/25 raid very similar to Onyxia where you battle with Malygos

Chamber of the aspects: Two raids here. the Obsidian sanctum and Ruby sanctum (patch 3.3.5) the first one is a single encounter raid instance where players face off against Sartharion. Ruby sanctum has heroic mode for both 10 and 25 player mode. The main object is to defend the red dragonflights home against the twilight dragon Halion.

Vault of Archavon:A raid dungeon found in Wintergrasp Keep. Players may only enter the dungeon while their faction controls Wintergrasp. Four giants reside here - Archavon, Emalon, Koralon and Toravon.

Ulduar: a 10/25-raid, introduced in Patch 3.1.0, one step above Tier 7 content.

Crusaders' Coliseum:Trial of the Crusader, a 10/25 raid, one step above Tier 8 content. Heroic incarnation of the instance is known as Trial of the Grand Crusader which was really tough.(yeah there was actually a difficult raid after all!)

Icecrown Citadel:a 10/25 raid, Tier 10 content. It does have Normal and Heroic modes for both 10 and 25 player versions, and it is the very last raid instance of the expansion pack.

Returning from original World of warcraft series but in another form.
Naxxramas (level 80, 10 and 25-player raid)
The instance has been returned to level 80 and included as a 10/25-player dungeon at an entry-level difficulty.
Onyxia's Lair (level 80, 10 and 25-player raid)
The instance has been returned in honor of World of Warcraft's 5th anniversary in Patch 3.2.2.

                                                                 PVP

Strand of the Ancients is a new siege warfare-style battleground south of Dragonblight featuring siege weapons. 15 people are on each team, and games can last a maximum of 20 minutes if neither side captures the Titan Relic. Players can mount up in Siege Engines, a four-passenger vehicle with spots for the driver, gunner and two passengers with all passengers protected from incoming fire. Players on foot can also take part in the siege by using Seaforium Charges to attack the walls and turrets to defend the walls.
Isle of Conquest, a battleground introduced in patch 3.2.0, Call of the Crusade, pitches teams of up to 40 players against each other in a massive battle over this small island off Northrend's northern coast. To win, your team will need to make use of the island's unique strategic locations including an oil derrick, a siege workshop, and a fully equipped airship hangar. You will deploy devastating siege weaponry on the field; Light have mercy on anyone caught between you and your ultimate target, the general holed up in the enemy keep.
Two new Arenas are also introduced in the expansion. One in the Orgrimmar Arena and the other in a new Dalaran Arena in Dalaran's sewers. These arenas introduce moving objects such as pillars and waterfalls, and damaging objects such as spikes in arenas and other such mechanics to create dynamics with line of sight and gameplay.

And as the battle against the Lich king continues our heroes in azeroth enjoy peace. But there can be no peace when the world its self is devoured by rage.in the last patch of Wotlk members of twilight were in the capital citys of both alliance and horde to pronounce the coming of the Destroyer.

Cataclysm draws nigh.

Introducing the third expansion set of World of warcraft Cataclysm
Announced on August 21, 2009 at BlizzCon 2009 and released in December 7, 2010.

Cataclysm: set primarily in a dramatically reforged Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms on the world of Azeroth, the expansion set follows the return of the evil Dragon Aspect Deathwing the Destroyer -- formerly known as the ancient guardian Neltharion the Earth Warder -- whose fiery arrival from Deepholm, the elemental plane of earth, causes a massive worldwide catastrophe known as The Shattering.
Cataclysm will return players to the two continents of Azeroth for most of their campaigning, after years away in Outland and Northrend, opening new zones such as Mount Hyjal, the sunken world of Vashj'ir, Deepholm, Uldum and the Twilight Highlands. It will include two new playable races: the worgen from the legendary kingdom of Gilneas for the Alliance, and the goblins of the Bilgewater Cartel from the isle of Kezan for the Horde. Flying mounts will finally be usable in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, while the new secondary profession Archaeology will be introduced. Reforging will make its debut in game, while player classes will be fully updated, including new race-class combinations.
 Major changes in game:
  • Player level cap increased to 85.
  • Seven new high-level zones: Mount Hyjal and Uldum in Kalimdor; Vashj'ir and the Twilight Highlands in the Eastern Kingdoms; Deepholm in the elemental plane of earth; the PvP zone and daily quest hub Tol Barad; and, added in patch 4.2, the daily quest hub zone Molten Front.
  • Two new player races, the Worgen of Gilneas for the Alliance and the Goblins of the Bilgewater Cartel for the Horde. New leveling zones added for these two races include Gilneas, the Isle of Kezan, and the Lost Isles.
  • A dramatic alteration of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms due to the Cataclysm, resulting in massive environmental changes, as well as questing and progression changes, for nearly every zone, resulting in new leveling experiences. This includes new starter areas for the gnomes and Darkspear trolls, faction changes for some zones (such as Hillsbrad Foothills) and, with the environmental redesign, the ability for players to fly on both continents. (The blood elf and draenei content will still be instanced and limited to ground mounts only.)
  • Seven new high-level dungeons and four new raid instances, all available in regular and heroic modes (with raids in both 10- and 25-player varieties), as well as four heroic 5-man revamps of classic dungeons and former raids (Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman). This will also include Blizzard's new Flexible Raid Lock system, a change to raid functionality which includes the ability to move between 10- and 25-player raid groups, combine or split groups, and vary regular & heroic attempts.
  • New PvP opportunities including the Tol Barad zone and a PvP-instanced dungeon, Baradin Hold, as well as two new battlegrounds Battle for Gilneas and Twin Peaks.
  • Class redesign (coming immediately prior to expansion launch in Patch 4.0.1 but optimized for the expansion) including new talents and spells, simplification of talent trees, and reorganization of class buffs.
  • Revamp of character and gear stats, including elimination of some stats and major changes to base stat operability (such as intellect creating spell power, strength and agility affecting attack power, etc.) This includes the addition of Reforging to the game, giving players the ability to add certain stats on gear in return for removal of others.
  • New race/class combinations which will be available to all players in Patch 4.0.3
  • New Archaeology profession.
  • Level cap raised on all main and secondary professions to 525, with many new items, patterns and rewards.
  • A new Guild advancement system, which includes guild leveling, achievements and rewards.
  • Consolidation of previous expansion set currency systems; rewards will include two PvE currencies, Justice and Valor points, as well as two PvP currencies, Honor and Conquest points.
  • New technology enhancements including support for DirectX 11 features and hardware cursor in OpenGL mode, additional video options and a new water rendering engine.

Unlike in the previous two expansions, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, there is no new continent/world for additional content; instead, Cataclysm returns players primarily to Azeroth itself, with seven new high-level (80-85) zones. Each of the five leveling zones features its own unique breadcrumb (introductory) quest and cutscene; afterwards, each is accessible quickly through portals in Stormwind City and Orgrimmar. Tol Barad is also available at level 85 via these portals; Molten Front is only accessible via Mount Hyjal.
SO lets sum up and see whats new in this expansion.
2 new playable races: worgen and goblin
New features: Archaelogy, Master system, guild advancement, rated battlegrounds, flying mounts in Azeroth, upgraded wat yer effects,New race/class combinations, more flight paths, new quests, new dungeons. yeah thats a lot!
